Hello,

I am Emanuela Di Cola, scientist, expert of interdisciplinary projects at the interface between polymer physics and biology, with +20 years of research experience and + 50 publications in peer review journals.

For my research, I have extensively exploited the synergy between x-rays and neutron scattering techniques and their combination with in-situ complementary characterisation methods (rheology, DLS, calorimetry, rapid mixing with stopped flow) to study the structure-function relationship in soft matter systems.  I have also an additional expertise in X-ray Correlation Spectroscopy (XPCS) to study the dynamics of complex fluids.

I have strong background as instrument scientist at the large-scale facilities: I covered the position of beamline scientist for eight years at the European Synchrotron (ESRF, Grenoble) at two different beamlines (ID02 and ID13, respectively), and more recently I was a regular user of neutron facilities as research visitor at the Institute Laue Langevin (ILL, Grenoble).

I am actually taking ownership of my career as freelance scientific consultant, offering analytical services and training courses on the use of large-scale facilities for academy and industrial clients.

Spoken languages: Italian (Mother tongue), English and French (Fluent), German (basic knowledge)
